We had planned to send our children to Clemson where my husband is a lecturer. After what my husband has witnessed - seeing the students suffer - and endured these last two years, we are instead currently looking at out-of-state colleges that do not require masks or testing for our own children. Our children will not attend Clemson if the possibility remains that masking &/or testing will be required. We thought we were putting down roots in an excellent part of the country by an amazing school. We were wrong. Clemson has spent the last 2 years conditioning students to accept trading private biological and medical information for access to what was before given freely. The leaders of Clemson would rather follow inept government institutions than lead the way in pursuit of the truth by forcing useless masks on students and faculty. It's a shame what Clemson has done to its reputation and what McMaster has allowed private companies to do to its employees with vaccine mandates.
I have two students at UofSC. These mandates need to stop. If they continue, we will never support any university which chooses to not follow real science but politics. You err by thinking we have no common sense or access to scientific data.
Please protect our freedom! We are debating on sending my child to UGA instead of a SC school, who was accepted at both USC & Clemson.
Please pass laws and provisos that will ban SC State Colleges from forcing and coercing students to test, wear a mask, and take a vaccine with extreme side effects.
Stop treating the students at Clemson like lab rats! End the required testing that is mandatory for ALL STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES, regardless of bad status!

There is no excuse to not follow Ron Desantis in his leadership against the tyranny of medical mandates and masks. I’ve not been allowed to return to work at the cruise port and has my 401K liquidated to invested funds, and brokerage fees. I am just one story of thousands of SC people who have been hurt in the job sector. Additionally, the physiology abuse being endured daily by all students as well as those in the workforce is on the hands of our SC government for not standing up for those you are supposed to serve. It’s time to take a stand or get out and let someone who wants to serve the people serve. Praying daily for the past 2 years that you will do what is right in the eyes of God as our forefathers did. If you can’t show up with debatable science, you can’t mandate healthcare initiatives, especially when masking is not legal and only has Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA, aka- not safe- no safety studies, further adding liability to your institutions

I have 2 high school students who will be heading off to college. I plan to return to college myself but not with this happening. We are adults, stop taking our freedoms away. We can make this choice for ourselves. A high school student is capable of deciding if they want to wear a mask or get a vaccine or not but a college student isn't able. this is WRONG!
People with the vaccination can still get or still spread the virus. The C19 shot is still an experiment with thousands of deaths and permanent disabilities. This needs to end. The fear and control needs to end.

It is clear masks do not work. Drs have verified and confirmed this. The shot does not prevent you from getting this virus, nor does it prevent the spread of it. The testing requirements need to stop ASAP!! My daughter missed the first full week of semester 2 classes while awaiting test results. This put her behind in classes immediately. Unfair punishment to an unvaccinated student. In addition, her absence that week made it very obvious to other classmates and friends that she is unvaxxed. Testing requirements are discriminatory.

Mask mandates have resulted in lower socialization of students who are figuring out how to be adults. They are also a massive communcation barrier particularly for language classes. College students are not an at-risk group for covid. Continuing a mask mandate at this time is contributing more negatively than positively.
If DHEC is no longer tracking cases we need to all move forward. There will never be zero cases. This is something we will have to adhere to along with a number of other viral infections that have become a public norm.
The Covid emergency is over. We are no longer in a pandemic, but an endemic. We need to return to life pre Covid for the well being of the young and healthy while protecting the vulnerable. College students are not at risk and need to get on with their lives as well as the rest of the country as we do with the flu.
I have lost so much respect for Clemson’s administration. Federal govt money over sound reason, facts and students overall health.

As far as face coverings, it has been also proven by many studies that they also do not stop the spread of disease, cause bacterial infections, impair understanding, and other health issues.
